Acorn 30/15 Watt Gainesville Amp

Description

The Gainesville is a 30W single channel circuit, switchable to 15W. It accomplishes the 30W through a pair of cathode biased EL34s in class AB. The Gainesville is tube rectified (Gz34), with the option of switchable rectifier between tube and solid state. Oversized 50W transformers are used to keep them running well below their spec, which relates to a more efficient tone…e.g. better bass response. The main idea behind the design of this amp was to achieve maximum versatility while still keeping the design as simplistic as possible so the character and tone of the guitar and the style of the player can really shine through. Versatility to me means getting Fender, Marshall, and Vox-like tones all in one amp.
